well which is it? is it builders or creatives? there’s way more talk about supporting builders but builders doesn’t necessarily mean creatives “builders” today are mostly making ChatGPT wrappers: that’s not very creative: I wouldn’t call these types of “builders” creatives. world builders, sure, they’re some of the most creative: I see no one supporting “world builders” on Base right now

I’d hadn’t thought about what that looks like but I’d like to see a larger movement on Base devoted to elevating the art/artists and world builders that are actually creative; for all the talk of builders: artists are builders too: they just aren’t building digital casinos: they’re building memes: the units of our culture And they’re treated like second class citizens from just about every org in crypto

i see creators and artists as key components of an onchain internet (and i know jesse agrees ☻ ) https://x.com/jessepollak/status/1810760350922621295?s=46 we currently highlight things regularly for onchain daily, and im always on the lookout for creative projects — but we can def do more (and push into memes!)

To add to what bias is saying, and maybe he’d disagree, there’s value to be found for base in funding community that doesn’t see trading/building tokens/infra in crypto as their main cultural practice but instead are just situated onchain because it supports their vision for what the future of being creative or building community could be. For instance, I am currently engaged in building /beings-club, that with the right resources could facilitate conversations that challenge crypto culture and invite non-natives to explore being onchain. I also plan to run a /higher mindfulness club, which onboards to CBW/Warpcast, paying people to meditate in $HIGHER, and then offering them additional rewards for community participation via commit.wtf - introducing them to the opportunities available onchain and meditation simultaneously. Non-cryptocentric, crypto-situated community can most earnestly communicate the benefits of being onchain, because they’re less about speculation and more about utility.

If you want to know what you could do, it would be to fund I and others so we can: 1. onboard, retain, and invite more people with rewards, for participation in practices that are both valuable to them and invite them to learn more about being onchain 2. dedicate more time to building community that distributes the skills needed to maintain sanity onchain and in the world, and build a better future Essentially, the opportunity is in funding public goods situated within crypto with positive externalities that go beyond it. This IS the way in which crypto solidifies it’s value to the world and invites people to investigate the value of being onchain. Community is what gave crypto its power and empowered community is what it is all about. (I’m in the process of receiving /higher funding to onboard 1000 people and run 6-months worth of meditation teaching - base could help me 10x those numbers and distribute more clear thinking about blockchains/base/the emotional rollercoaster of crypto simultaneously.)
