sometimes i fall for that old trap and wonder if i’m being subcasted and then i quickly remember i shouldn’t actually care about that part of any of this, i should only care that i’m actively tracking and seeking my own personal development, growth and accountability, and no one’s external snapshot opinion of me is any semblance of a universal ground truth for me or my character then i also remember that im nobody, so why would anyone subcast me

I’ve been guilty of getting caught up in feeling this in the past Ultimately the questions are do I think I’m being subcasted because there’s some unrelated insecurity I have or do I think that because there’s something I’m doing i don’t fully believe in? Or am I actually being subcasted and then what do I think of the person doing the sub casting? Does their opinion matter? Why aren’t they being direct? For me it’s then either: there’s some self-esteem to reestablish, a person to reconsider the power I’m giving to, or a behaviour I don’t fully love to examine also idk tho 🤷♂️

Haha yeah, ultimately I know it’s projection, but for me it’s like: if the person is subcasting me was I actually guilty of whatever it is they are accusing me of, or is it their misinterpretation of me and my intentions that they’re really subcasting

you can be projecting yourself into the scenario, running over their cast contents in your head and assuming it applies to you or you can see the cast contents and wonder if it’s the author projecting all their own
