Farcaster is the WELL. I’ve lived through USENETS, LambdaMOO, Geocities, Slashdot, Second Life, DIY/Maker culture - but Farcaster is the only thing even close to the feeling I was looking for when people tell stories about the WELL.

I think I’ve shared with you before how when I dropped out of college (hardship) my professor sent me off with a modem, vt100 terminal & an account at the well so we could stay in touch. Life changing event.

Such a great story. I was fortunate enough to have a mentor when I was 22 who just taught me how to be a professional and make money and then he later went on to become CTO of the White House. We met because I knew how to sniff packets and he knew how to sell security consulting.
