just bought 6 additional units of storage via caststorage.com (cheers, @sammdec.eth), let's see if that keeps me good on the replies ๐Ÿ˜† so does this mean, what's pruned is never pruned? or, is what's pruned already gone for good?

Curious, why buy so many at one time? Do you think youโ€™ll use all that in next ~11 months? Think price of ETH will crash?

my reaction count now is already >10k since (50% of my current capacity) while pretty sure i can live w/o >99% of the casts i've made, i want to make sure i hold onto everything for now while deliberating whether to maintain my own hub ๐Ÿ˜…

also, good chance the price will rise: rn there's only two (and 1/2) spam defense plans: 1/ curated invites 2/ active caster formula 2.5/ moderator experiment Discove sunsetted; no newer alt client has experimented w/ filtering; WC is waiting for EAS to mature (no inside info, just my outsider's interpretation)

What are your thoughts on using Storage Units (SU) price as a spam reduction tactic? Not grokโ€™n the wait for EAS. Would you speculate more for us on that topic? Isnโ€™t FC one big message attestation syncing protocol? ๐Ÿ™

(1/2) SU price seems tough: - icky: OG vs n00b for 1yr - too low->airdrop hunters - too high->VC/angel signallooors not clear there's sweet spot in the middle. caster quality seems orthogonal to willingness-to-pay. DAU growth is more about freshness retroactive grants via Purple? nah, who wants to play gatekeeper

(2/2) I use "EAS" as short-hand for decentralized identity+onchain data to curate one's feed. Like saying, "I want to see casts from developers with >5 GH commits in past month, in a privacy-preserving way without having to browse someone's GH activity" or, only those with ENS, EOAs > 1yr old, balances > $200, etc

So extensible profile attributes/data at Mon anchored onchain. A stated preferences profile that is privacy preserved. Think I Gotcha.

+ integrated into clients for user-customizable feed filters/curation until such tools appear, 90% of current effort to grow quality DAU appears to be with channel mods. 10% with Purple Welcome Committee. The only remaining levers I see are 1/ group invites, 2/ delegated personal invites, and 3/ SU price numba go up

One could argue a reason for that 90% channel focus is app devs have been treated like second class citizens. Are they being counted in DAUs? Network DAUs > ๐Ÿšพ DAUs (obvi sorry) Yes, App group invites. ๐Ÿ™Œ

say more about 2nd class citizen treatment? I disagree but am open to ur pov: - protocol is permissionless+nearly free - Neynar provides api/infra diversity - FC team gave great visibility to Discove, FarQuest, Herocast, Opencast, CastStorage, Farcord, TilesCool, +more - hasn't stepped on or co-opted innovation AFAICT

circling back to App group invites ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ take: if the community hadn't been SO allergic, Yup & FarQuest might have 5k invites each rn; we'd have spent a few days creating simple text-block filters that work so-so; we'd be double DAU now with lower average quality (inevitable) Maybe channels need to gel first tbh
