This reminds me of my expat days in Germany. Not speaking the language & trying to date. A horrible combo in my experience. ‘Do you speak English?’, as an icebreaker. 🤦 I turned to a topic I thought for sure she would know, Michael Jordan. Ahh no. Two dates & done. O for Germany. YMMD
