💯 agreed, but this cycle retail will be wary of any terminology from last cycle (e.g., “NFTs”) and anything that was covered majorly in mainstream media leading up to LUNA & FTX

Nah, honestly, we thought that about dogecoin/litecoin and all "alts" after the 2013/14 cycle peak. 2017 then heralded what was arguably the most insane alt szn imaginable. Lots of people also thought ETH was toxic after the DAO Hack & drop to $80 but the 20/21 cycle was literally ETH's show.

Do you think that’s due to lower available “selection” of possible tradable assets in previous cycles though? For example $WIF took off this precycle, not $DOGE. I also think fungible tokens behave quite differently from non-fungible ones.

The 2017 alt szn started with BTC Dominance just over 98%, and saw it drop all the way to 36% - that type of liquidity flow honestly could never be seen again. 2021 saw BTC.D top at 73%, and only fall to about 39%. Doge is weirdly, always late to run. It's a very retail indicator coin.

Curious to hear what your personal predictions are for what will catalyze true retail to enter this cycle? For me personally I feel like all the current SocialFi is the same 5,000 degen circle jerk we’ve seen for months.

Rly? I'd be of the opposite opinion - farcaster is the first truly web3-enabled social platform that I think actually works. Honestly, same as every cycle - fomo. Prices go up, someone like Musk starts bullposting, midfluencers post their gains etc. New retail don't join for tech. They join because of "easy money".
