Via Twitter or Discord mostly.  Word of mouth and personal recommendations are obvi the best :)

I create new mints myself 😀. I buy only on Zora/manifold or curated marketplaces. I go see the discord channel of the marketplaces ask the moderator about the mint. I also see the ethscan, see the transaction from the minted wallet too...but most importantly, i look at the art project first and foremost.
