On July 20th, a software update incident by cybersecurity giant CrowdStrike resulted in a massive crash of customer computer systems worldwide. Security experts revealed that this incident highlights the lack of sufficient quality checks before deploying updates. Steve Cobb, Chief Security Officer of Security Scorecard, pointed out that the issue may lie in the code review or sandbox testing phase, and defective files may not have been included in the review scope.
