The only way to pin something on Warpcast is by owning a channel. 

If you can't pin a cast to your profile, it's because, according to @dwr.eth's argument, users wouldn't appreciate seeing pinned tweets on people's profiles (Seems like a joke but it's not)

But ..why doesn't this argument apply to channels?

People lose their power badges for many reasons... Everything is possible but I wouldn't accuse anybody without any proof. But that's just me.
