The OG nodes were, of course, on #Bitcoin Full Bitcoin nodes collect and verify transaction data, storing it and publishing it ready to be picked up and included in a block by the miners. They also help to protect against 51% attacks by checking miners' work.

Ethereum changed the model a little. RPC nodes still collect transactions, but now they broadcast not to miners but to validator nodes 📡 Validators stake ETH to be eligible to participate in the network's decision-making, such as voting on the validity of new blocks ✅
