Dubai Airports is set to have the world's largest rooftop solar panel system, spanning both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Center Airport (DWC). This system, which will have 62,904 solar panels, will produce 60,346 megawatt hours of clean energy annually, which will meet 6.5% of DXB's electricity needs and 20% of DWC's electricity needs. The project, which is scheduled to be completed in 2026, will offset 23,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, which is equivalent to removing 5,000 cars from the road or powering 3,000 homes for a year. 2 replies
