Insider Trading

With the creation of the /insider-trading channel, I’ve realized just how many people are learning to trade. So, tonight we’ll talk about trading strategies! 

Here are a couple that I think are important:

1) Layering out to take profit: One of my biggest challenges has been knowing when to take profit and when to hold. I tend to either sell too early and miss the majority of profit or hold too long and round trip stuff. 

Lately though, I have been layering out of positions and it works much better. Things are pumping? Sell 25% and re-assess. If it keeps running, keep taking some off the table. But always leave yourself a moonbag - unless you’re sure it’s all deadweight. 

2) Cutting your losses. Sometimes you have to cut a position at a loss to put the money to better use. This shouldn’t be done lightly though as it’s a quick way to burn through your funds. That said, don’t be afraid to cut a loser.

I often copy trade because it allows me to leverage the expertise of proven traders. My go-to rule? Once a position doubles (2x), I take 50% of the profits off the table. This strategy locks in gains early and removes the emotional pressure of "what if it reverses."

Why?

It secures my initial investment while letting the remaining funds ride the wave.

It keeps my risk balanced while giving me a chance to grow profits further.

I’ve learned that freeing up capital from a bad trade to reinvest in better opportunities can be a game-changer. It’s all about staying unemotional.
