Vincent Van Gogh is one of those who had a tremendous impact on art in the 20th century. His portrait with a bandaged ear shows the artist in a yellow room with his right ear injured, but in reality he had cut off his left ear. The difference between this portrait and the reality shows the fact that Van Gogh used the mirror to paint an image of himself.
