“Farcaster must remove all the bots” This is a worrying line of thinking I’m seeing more often. The argument goes that it’s not enough to hide uninteresting content. It *must* be removed from the protocol. That is, someone must judge the worthiness of accounts and delete them from the protocol.

The targeted attacks at you and dan seems peculiar. As if insinuating the bot surge is somehow orchestrated but you both. It's hilarious.

What I have seen is people pushing back on including the garbage in DAU. The criticism goes that because they are VC-funded, the assumption is DAU is the north star growth metric (probably is), so it incentivizes counting everything. But if the quality takes a dive, humans will leave, even if the garbage stays.

I hate cynicism and I think it’s a cynical overly simplistic take.

Perhaps shaming dan and v was the right approach just to really get that point across. It’s really wasn’t necessary though.

When you build in public, be prepared to be held accountable in public Pushing for accountability ≠ shaming Dan let’s his ego get in his way too much Guarantee a16z forces him out as CEO, and replaces him with an actual adult that has thicker skin within a year.. You heard it here first!

Shaming and personal attacks are unnecessary and destructive. Never going to accomplish anything and it just ends up looking like bad faith and that one might just need to log off for a bit.
