This study is poorly conducted. Initially, they opted for Getah Virus, possibly to steer clear of the Replicon Equine encephalitis species. Plus, they examined just 3 mice on day 14, far too few and too brief a period to observe recombination. All it really shows is that Replicons have the ability to recombine.
