The core team has been working on Farcaster for almost 4 years and have had a lot of product ideas at various points that we shelve because it's not aligned with our most pressing problem / top priority. 

Streaks was one that came up at least a half dozen times during "what should we build next?" brainstorms.

Knowing when to work on something and the correct sequencing of features is the hard part. Still not great at it, but getting better.

100% agree. the PM memes are actually accurate. 0-1 PMs are really hard to find.

0-1 PMs carry a lot of risk and stress for not much more upside or pay than other roles in a medium to big org:
- the ones that don't mind the risk and stress optimize for the upside and become founders since it's actually the exact set of competencies as founders
- or they just settle for the same stress/risk as everyone else in the org and mask as feature PMs or go into ops type of roles. 

the competencies and skillset are very valuable in paths other than being a 0-1 PM:
- some of the 0-1 specific competencies overlap with technical roles. so a lot of folk who would've been good PMs are engineers instead (for good reasons).
- the rest of the 0-1 competencies that don't overlap with technical roles are just general entrepreneurship competencies. so, much of the pool also gets drained into non-tech entrepreneurs.

lol, most product managers can only work on iterative improvements for a product with strong product market fit
