if warpcast had “stories” like Instagram, would you be interested in seeing parts of my day (or other farcasters’ days) that don’t necessarily deserve to be on main feed?

i would use it almost daily and start allocating some of my instagram time here instead.

i liked formerly-known-as-Twitter stories much better than Instagram. so sad the y sunsetted that feature.

my POV: fleets was never going to work in 2021.

the platforms where stories thrived, Snapchat and then IG, were anchored and designed around relationships / connection; by the time Twitter launched fleets, it had already evolved into a global media platform powered by performative content where connection =/= goal.

the statement would've been true if people weren't watching stories of influencers on Instagram.

these are arbitrary, figure of speech distinctions

both are the same, just the content is different. 
on formerly-known-as-Twitter i'm making "connections" with your stream of consciousness on instagram i'm making "connections" with your lifestyle and aesthetics.

try to distinguish between ig today vs what it was when it initially launched in aug 2016

and the statement is still true. people still use ig stories for connection, it’s just diluted and a worse UX due to influencers and ads.
