One of the great painters of the Renaissance, Leonardo da Vinci constantly experimented with artistic traditions and techniques. He created novel compositions, explored anatomy to accurately represent the human body, considered the human psyche to represent personality, and experimented with methods for representing three-dimensional space and objects on a two-dimensional surface. The result of his endless curiosity are many unfinished projects, but also some of the most realistic, complex and tender representations of human nature.
