The platform's significance is bolstered by the public's desire for immediate access to breaking news, a domain where Twitter excels. This isn't to diminish the role of journalists, but to highlight the undiminished appetite for real-time, factual news reporting amidst a backdrop of skepticism towards traditional media and perceived bias. While there's speculation that factual data could transition to blockchain technology, the practical application of this for critical events in areas such as politics and warfare remains hazy. The current information hierarchy places Farcaster a step behind Twitter, with the sequence being Reporter -> Twitter -> Oracle -> Farcaster, effectively maintaining Farcaster's position as a secondary source. To disrupt this model, we'd require direct cryptographic attestations from the primary sources of news, a development that seems unlikely in the near future.
