I continue to think the solution is raising the bar to who gets to receive tips

do it with tasks

make the tasks accessible and open for anyone to do, but make them reasonably difficult

make them related to promoting DEGEN 

and the people who do them are whitelisted for tips

positive sum all around

it's actually a similar problem to Bitcoin mining

in the beginning, anyone could mine Bitcoin with a cheap ass computer because it was worth nothing

there was no competition 

same with DEGEN tipping, it worked in the beginning on a simple trust system because it was worthless

but now it's worth something and the network is being attacked because we never increased the difficulty to receive a tip beyond "post a comment on Farcaster"

proof of work only works with difficulty that adjusts based on competition

we absolutely need a higher bar to receive DEGEN tips (and it has to be something other than "hold/stake # of DEGEN")

100%, which is why I'm trying to be more vocal now about the flaws of the tipping system

there's 0 reason we need to use it forever, there are SO many ways we can distribute DEGEN to people who create specific types of content 

it could become an awesome flywheel of us rewarding creators for making DEGEN content, which makes more creators get involved, which means better content, which means more attention to DEGEN and bigger prizes for creators

but that does take Jacek to make a decision...at the end of the day the community can't decide to move on from tipping on Farcaster as the primary method of DEGEN distribution, he runs that part of the show

I have no faith that the community can come together to police tipping, it is an insanely hairy subjective problem and a PR nightmare to moderate (see today)

but the community can definitely rally and promote a new, more creative way of distributing that DEGEN

The community IS responsible for quality and effort.   This isn't all on @jacek 

Do I agree with everything he's doing?
No

Do I think he should ban all of those people this season?
Also no

But he's not wrong in that the community has gotten complacent in a lot of ways.  

I've always looked for ways to contribute here for the good of ALL of our bags.  People need to take some responsibility for "gib me money" mentality

(I repeat, I don't think many of these people should be banned this current season)

I think we all need to do lil better if we want degen to go to $1

This ticker is too good to keep letting people exploit it.
