when I see Ethereum people fading Solana because "its not decentralized" it reminds me of 2016/17 me who faded Ethereum because it was so centralized they rolled the entire chain back for a hack

But why would new retail go to Solana when they're all on-ramping through Coinbase who can funnel them right onto Base? 🤔

because they see people getting rich on fun memecoins in the news and go to the chain where those memecoins are (Solana)

unironically this is why the success of $DEGEN might be the most important factor in whether or not Base makes it

fair enough prediction but I just don't see it

Binance/BSC was shameless about promoting pump and dump memecoins and get quick rich schemes

Base team isn't that cutthroat, they'll promote real projects because they are good people but that's gonna lead to them missing out on retail flows because the hype is elsewhere

Yeah, my prediction is that they're going to see Coinbase pumping projects on Base in early bull while Coinbase does everything they can to funnel them (the retail investors) directly onto base with less friction than getting onto other chains. Coinbase is Binance/BSC 2.0, but way better.
