$10 btc (2012) was pre gox, industry hadn't even seen a single fraud yet
im not leaving yet but ive thought about it, the vibes are in shambles and public opinion is somewhere between "self mutilation" and "adolf hitler". made a lot of great friends, but met 10x more dickheads.
there are some very few wins that i love a lot (defi, stables, ENS) but any honest accounting of it has to acknowledge that for every tiny win, there's been a dozen meteoric turds, we've very possibly caused more harm than good at this point.
you really wanna try to ostracize anyone questioning it? you gonna pretend there hasn't been widespread Badness that at least rivals any Goodness we've accomplished?
that's your prerogative, king, but that kind of "love it or GTFO" hopium is one of my chief turnoffs here. we have too much leadership whitewashing the history and gaslighting any dissent. i truly can't imagine a worse signal than a "bulls only, bears unwelcome" purity test in an industry that's supposed to understand markets. 1 reply
