My experience with blockchain commerce so far is paying is too slow.

Tap pay embedded in cards is gold standard: no confirm, no sig, just wave it.
Apple Wallet close second since usually in hand.

What's stopping blockchain payments from shimming into Apple Wallet or a physical card?

this is the problem with thinking crypto is a good idea for commerce

consumers want zero friction

crypto will always have more friction than centralized commerce because of it's decentralized nature, so centralized commerce will always dominate

for edge cases yeah, but I think even in a hyper-crypto adoption world the majority of payments will still be done through trusted centralized vendors because people like the payment reversibility, fraud checks, etc.

imo centralized payments are not the pain point in modern global life crypto ppl paint them out to be

I don't think that's strictly true though. Many parts of commerce can be made easier or just as easy with crypto. Loans, international payments, etc.

The bigger barrier from my standpoint is crypto as legal tender, tax and volatility.

why would I go through the headache of funding a Gnosis Pay wallet when I get the same convenience + fraud protection, payment reversibility, etc from my bank?

Doesn't Gnosis Pay work like that? Just tap to spend from your in-card HW wallet?

no joke: I like signing in the same way I like cracking open the cobwebs of my physical wallet to pay with cash.
