A game close to my nostalgic beat is Final Fantasy VI. Not only did it birth so many timeless scores, its range and variety is also great. One of my favourite JRPGs. Here is the music from the Magitek Research Facility.

Cid in FF6 doesn’t have to die (though i unknowingly let him die in my first run).

Not gonna lie silly me let shadow die too. 
Gotta admit though, letting Cid die is the superior cinematic experience with that music and performance. It’s so sad lmao 
It’s actually better that he dies dramatically, but happier if he is alive.

Little Zeni saved as soon as he finished the escape and didn't learn he could save cid until after.

Played through again to make it happen the second time round.
