If you're new, try replying to existing conversations vs. only casting "into the void". People on FC are quite welcoming and interested in engaging with and following thoughtful, kind people (even if they don't know them).

I'm optimistic that if channels can become user instantiated and discussion like subreddits, people will naturally find conversations with others interested in the same topics and naturally join in
