i have no idea what i'm doing, did i plant stuff too closely? worried my cucumbers are gonna smother my pepper plants 🥺 but otherwise im gardening-pilled, it's addicting

It’s definitely a bit cramped, peppers need 12-18 inches and about the same for tomatoes. The cucumbers will companion and grow up. You’re probably ok and what will happen is each will be stunted. But worst case is one plant gets killed off by the others.

thanks! That was what I was worried about - I've never moved a plant like this before, how would I avoid damaging the roots?

Were they just planted or have they been in that bed for awhile? You should water them heavily first and let them drink it up and then just use your hands and try and scoop / dig the entire root ball out of the ground and then immediately into the new soil. It can shock them a little but usually they are fine.
