Seeing a lot of cyclone content on my fyp. Some advice to get you through from someone who has lived in Japan for 20 years. Fill up the bath with water. This is for heating up for warmth, toilet water for when the system is down. Windows, close and lock, do not open and shut them. Tape an X across each panel using masking/low adhesive tape. This is to minimise the damage if they break. Do not go outside to check on the weather. This is the most common cause of death/injury during natural disasters. Keep a pair of shoes on or close to you at all times, ones that cover the full foot, preferably not fabric. Pack bags. Medication(prescriptions and any emergency related), documents, snacks, water, spare clothes are the minimum. Most importantly take breaks. It is impossible to switch off from the situation but having the tv or radio on 24/7 will only drain you mentally. Pick times to check in to be on top of things. This one is especially important if you have young ones. Big love and hugs
