Crypto as a New Subculture
I remember in 2007, we were crazy about emo rock, Linkin Park, SOAD, and Paramore. We wore recognizable clothes and argued about styles. It was a time when lifestyle, music, and appearance united people.
Like emos, crypto enthusiasts feel part of something bigger.
Community, ideology, attributes.
But the main difference is the economic aspect.
The emo subculture mostly didn't touch on economics, while the crypto subculture is directly linked to money and investments.
Now you don’t need to look for a job to invest some money into your hobby because your hobby is money, an investment.
Risky, emotional, but linked to economy directly.
