In the U.S., an airdrop is considered taxable income based on its value as soon as you click the claim button. Example π If I claim $1000 and sell, then I pay income tax on $1000. If I claim and the token goes to 0, then I still pay taxes on $1000. IMO, this needs to change so weβre taxed on the sell value, but it is what it is right now. Different counties have different rules and regulations. Stop sell shaming people. Everyoneβs situation is different.

Exactly, I didn't sell any of my degen airdrops last year and i have to pay taxes on those as income. Today, they are down at least 70% in value. I would've been better off selling as soon as i got them but i held on because i believed in it. LOL
