Weird wake fact: Red Dead Redemption turned me onto the satisfying sound of horse hooves on wooden bridges in open world games. A seemingly unimportant sound effect that, for me, reveals much about that world.

This comes up often in gaming: there are many virtual horses, many more virtual bridges, and they often meet.

And when good meets board, I listen.

I just started playing Red Dead on my switch! I have it plugged in to my tv and soundbar for an optimal experience and the sound effects are next level!

RDR1's environmental effects were top notch for the time and only surpassed by Rockstar's later work imo.
