q: why has base captured the trust of fc better than other coinbase products

a: other cb products are taking off like cb wallet, but base has been able to combine institutional trust with maximal decentralization - collaborating and uplifting other partners (ie OP stack chain)

q: is the infra good enough yet?

a: we are close - infra that drives down cost will scale usage and we are seeing it with 4844 and L3s; wallets are improving (smart wallet);

q: what should onchain reputation be based on/who should own it?

a: no one should own reputation, being onchain is about collective ownership and owning your own identity

identity will be emergent; there wont be a single rep protocol; it will be thru the collection of a variety of apps that create a holistic picture

q: wen base token

a: no plans for a token and its actually been great bc its allowed for more emergent creativity - allowing other ppl to fill the space; forced us to just focus on building great products and a great ecosystem

q: until decentralized, what will base do if sanctioned entities/activity interact w it

a: ideologically, base is open + permissionless; while centralized there are points of control; we are trying to eliminate those points of control asap

fault proofs, fully decentralized security council, permissionless wdrawals

q: how do we fix the brand of crypto other than improving ux

a: using empowering and accessible language around building the next generation of the internet and removing middlemen; and having examples to illustrate how crypto does that

q: what mistakes has base made so far?

a: we thought onchain summer last year had to be very planned, but the most exciting and impactful stuff was actually the stuff that was most emergent and organic - avoiding overindexing on predictability
