dnd rules would def help but not necessary imo 1 action, 1 bonus action, 30ft/turn movement attacks/spells are usually 1 action spells also have spell slots that get expended, replenished on long rests usually, spell levels exist special abilities used # times/short or long rest ok maybe dnd helps a lot 🤣🤣

Keep playing! Speaking personally, these types of games, were never my forte nor did I ever have an interest in playing them but then BG3 became the exception to the rule. It becomes so natural the more you explore. But the game also heavily rewards your curiosity. No prior lore rules or knowledge really needed IMO.

Does not require prior knowledge of BG or DND. Would just continue to play and enjoy the story. Try switching to easier modes if having difficulty. As you level up battles become easier but I really enjoyed the story and overall character decisions / interactions aspect, curious if you will too
