The statue of Zeus at Olympia was a colossal seated statue about 12.4 meters high, created by the Greek sculptor Phidias in about 435 BC at the Temple of Olympia in Greece, and erected in the Temple of Zeus there. Zeus is the god of the sky and thunder in the ancient Greek religion, who rules as the king of the gods of Mount Olympus.
