Ethdenver hot takes from an 1st timer + lone traveler: 1. If you’re going to do a panel, get an actual MC, not just another popular name. There is an actual skill to moderating, engaging people and controlling the audience. 2. Room management. The reality is that people want to network so much, but it often comes to the expense of the programming. Choose a venue that allow you to separate networking noise and the panel, and again get a MC who can command the audience. 3.There needs to be more in depth, emotional engagement between panelist/ fireside chats, etc. I would have loved to see some live storytelling too.

4. I heard that for many side events there were lines to get in. It’s not necessary. Luma has a waitlist feature. Use it. Or charge a small fee to get a higher qualified attendee, and stronger commitment. 5. I wish I spent more time building. I’m working on something and the little time that I spent with talking with engineers was so helpful and enlightening. I’m gonna prioritize that next time. 6. Naturally, it’s a very clicky space. People gravitate towards who they know or who they want to know. I’m neutral towards this, but it’s something I observed.

7. Use name tags at mixers, have attendees identify what they do in those tags. It’ll help people better connect on common interests. 8. I’m renting a car the next time I come it’s literally cheaper to rent a car to be an Uber’s going from Event to Event. 9. I wish they really pushed the Zen room more. It was one of the most beautiful parts of the event and wellness is so important. I only knew about it because two people whod been last year suggested that I go. 10. Quests for merch: make sure you align the reward with time spent on the quest. I minted a NFT for chapstick😕 lol that was annoying and now I know i wont ever engage with that brand again bc of the bad experience.
