There is an alarming rise in SIM swap attacks. These attacks don't simply impact the victim, they can have wide-reaching impacts on even securities markets. In this high-profile case, a perpetrator compromised the SEC's X account to manipulate Bitcoin prices for a pump and dump. The attack started with a social engineering attack on a wireless store employee.
