Researchers believe that Ferdowsi started composing the Shahnameh based on Abu Mansouri's Shahnameh at the age of thirty. The only known poem of his is the Shahnameh itself. Shahnameh is Ferdowsi's most famous poem and one of the greatest works of ancient Persian literature.
