Laura Knight is one of the most famous British women painters of the 20th century.  He portrayed the soldiers of the Second World War and the trial of the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials.

 Influenced by Impressionist painters, Laura Knight has painted mostly British women from various walks of life, from gypsy women to aristocratic women.

 Laura Knight was the official photographer of the British government during World War II and in 1946 she was commissioned to officially attend the trials of Nazi criminals and to photograph them for the record.

 This work of his, now housed in the British War Museum, shows two rows of German jurors sitting before 21 German war defendants and officers of the Hitler regime.  American soldiers with white hats can be seen behind them
