Gm ☕️ As I was researching indexes for www.indexy.xyz, I learned that the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was created by two writers and statisticians—Charles Dow and Edward Jones—back in 1896. “The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) was first published in 1896. It was the brainchild of two financial reporters, Charles Dow and Edward Jones, who sought to shed light on dishonest information that was commonly included in company financials to mislead investors.” They also co-founded The Wall Street Journal, where the DJIA has been published ever since. Being a writer and data scientist myself, this resonates a lot. I’ve been struggling to find reliable data and structure to analyze crypto markets ever since I started writing about crypto. I guess this is how Wall Street and the early investing world must have felt back then. Here’s the first edition of The Wall Street Journal from 1889.

Gm History always repeats itself, first with stocks, now with crypto. The search for reliable data never ends.
