A few things happened recently here on FC that got people thinking engagement + users are gone 

I think that’s not true and we are actually seeing nice developments toward qDAU (quality daily active users)

First, let’s review the changes:

1. Degen allowances went down drastically, so less tipping and engagement farming 

2. FC launched Priority Mode, sending new users, bots and low quality casts to a secondary tab instead of main notifications tab

Let’s start with 1)

Even with allowances down, degen is holding up its value and there are some super interesting dApps funded by the token. I’m using @drakula daily and many creators are using it (and not Warpcast which is incredible for the protocol stand point)

If degen wants to be something special it needs to be more than tipping… and it feels like those dApps + the L3 are the right way. 

Allowances could have been reduced slowly over time, yes. But you can still tip good casts (original idea), while avoiding the annoying farming that attracted a myriad of bots

I can see people I don’t follow in my replies, and interact with new users (if I want to)

With onchain channels coming soon and tools like @automod each community and client will have their moderation rules. It won’t depend on the team.

Also, this is priority mode v1, it should get better

So in general

FC feels more healthy now than 2-4 weeks ago. 

1) Degen is in a new stage, doing something more important than tipping and fostering bot farms.

There are many ways to earn degen now, through their partner dApps. 

Some are really fun @drakula / @alfafrens 

Less farming on the timeline = GREAT

2) FC feed / interactions feel better, although not perfect. 

The decentralise approach to moderation, creating the right primitives in the protocol, rather than centralise the moderation or no moderation is smart smart long term play.

Short term, we shouldn’t forget about new users, nevertheless, I still think is easier to grow in FC than in any other place in the crypto world.

With the amount of devs here, I wouldn’t be surprise to see the right system, community driven, soon.

Priority Mode makes some new users think no one sees them. Before that, same users thought they were shadowbanned. 

Starting from 0 is hard but there isn’t an easier place to grow than FC today. I spent _a lot of time_ on IG, Threads, X, Substack, YouTube… and quickly realized FC was the place to be
