LONG LIVE THE KING This artwork represents the powerful presence of King Cobra among other species of snakes. Four snakes are entangled and biting each other. The King cobra is at centre and is the only snake unharmed. King cobra got its title “KING” based on its proclivity for eating other snakes including cobras. Sketched on glass first & enhanced digitally later on. 100 $DEGEN The Indian subcontinent is home to several deadly, poisonous snakes, including the cobra. Ancient Indians both feared & revered the snakes. You will find references to snake deities in both Hindu folklore & literature. It is possible that Indus people worshipped snakes. They are also popularly associated with both Vishnu, Shiva & several other divinities. The Puranas also mention several large serpentine deities. Vasuki the king of snakes, played a vital role in the churning of the oceans. Several myths, beliefs, legends & scriptures are associated with snakes. Beautiful art by an amazing multi talented artist Sarvendra 🫡🤍
