I was walking through the park when I saw a small dog sitting alone on a bench. It had a collar, so I knew it wasn’t lost, but no owner was in sight. A few minutes later, a man came jogging over, breathless. “She always runs ahead of me,” he laughed, picking up the dog. I smiled and said, “She looks like she owns the place.” He chuckled and nodded. We exchanged a few words about the weather before he continued his run. It was just a short conversation, but it left me with a warm feeling for the rest of the day.
