I’m being 100% serious in asking someone to clarify this tweet as I know politicians are intentionally vague, but I also might be in denial Is she implying that the people of Venezuela elected Maduro in a free and fair election?

It’s engaging both sides, acknowledging their opposition to Maduro while remaining vague enough to deny him fuel for his argument against the U.S. This old-world diplomatic double-speak is becoming increasingly jarring compared to the direct communication of online users. Elon Musk’s line, “Does he have space lasers? Because I do,” exemplifies the normal speech pattern of someone who lives on Twitter. While I don’t consider it good or bad, I do notice the change.
