In addition to the left/right (economic scale), authoritarian/libertarian (social scale), and utilitarian/deontologist (ethical scale), I propose adding one more dimension to the political compass that guides our understanding of social governance: reflexivity preference. 1/10

yeah, but the compass does not worlk xd it is naive to be honest, more like something for kids than real politiks, people cannot reduced to tags.

But also, while I agree with you that we can’t reduce people to tags, the more ideological dimensions we measure, the more accurate an idea we get about someone’s politics. It is precisely because I find the “left/right” dichotomy comically sterile that I try to think of additional slices that are meaningful

In 1D, yes. The more typical compass you can find on https://www.politicalcompass.org/ is 2D. My casts from 3 months ago and today argue about adding two more dimensions, so we’re now in hypercube territory and the output is no longer left right but rather {w,x,y,z} 🫠
