@kaspacurrency $KAS After the Crescendo update, four short-term tasks were added. They are currently in the execution process and are publicly available. The first two tasks aim to improve the initial synchronization process. One task removes duplicate headers to reduce traffic, while the other prevents the synchronization from restarting if the crop point is shifted. Both tasks are being handled by @FreshAir08. The third task aims to speed up the pruning process, particularly on slow SSDs, to prevent the database from growing too quickly. Finally, the fourth task adds an optional setting to use RAM as storage for archive nodes. This feature was suggested by Callidon from the Kaspa community on Discord, who demonstrated that it works well even on HDDs.

It consists in the fact that the emission decreases exponentially over time according to the 12-note musical scale. This policy was named the "chromatic phase" and was activated on May 7, 2022 with a block reward of 440 KAS. The block reward is halved once a year, but smoothly: each month, the block reward is reduced by (1/2)^(1/12) times. This means that the ratio of block rewards in consecutive months is exactly the same as the ratio of the frequencies of two consecutive semitones in a tempered chromatic scale. The reward of the initial block is the frequency of the la note of the fourth octave (A4 or A4) in hertz, and therefore, each subsequent year, the amount of remuneration will shift by an octave.
