We're hoping more wallets integrate the coinbase wallet sdk soon, because it work much better than wallet connect on mobile.

3/ It is open source https://github.com/MobileWalletProtocol/wallet-mobile-sdk/tree/2.0/react-native/host, free to use, and we would love for the entire ecosystem of apps and wallets to adopt it → make it easier for users to get onchain

4/ Our spec is here https://mobilewalletprotocol.github.io/wallet-mobile-sdk/docs/spec and the host library for wallets is here https://www.npmjs.com/package/@coinbase/mobile-wallet-protocol-host.

5/ @coinbasewallet uses this exact library to handle requests, and so can your app. We are working on updating the SDK to support any MWP-compliant wallet https://github.com/MobileWalletProtocol/wallet-mobile-sdk/blob/2.0/ios/CoinbaseWalletSDK/Client/Model/Wallet.swift#L39.

6/ Our plan is to continue evolving the protocol & tooling, and we welcome all devs to contribute too.

7/ To start and show our commitment, we will be hosting an office hour Thursday at 12pm PST on Gather. Plus a mini-hackathon at ETHDenver & ETH grants to builders!

We’ll be hosting working dev sessions at ETH Denver on 2/29 @4pm, 3/1 @1pm & 4pm and 3/2 11am & 4:30pm. Pizza & drinks provided.

10/ ETHDenver Builder grants 💪

We’ll offer 0.5-1 ETH grants to builders for contributions & integrations with MWP, winners will be chosen by 3/6 - end of day.

11/ Projects will be judged based on quality, usability, and originality and its potential to be adopted by the broad ecosystem. Bonus points for exceptional use of the @base platform.

2/ We built this protocol from the ground up to give a reliable and seamless way for mobile apps to connect to wallets → it should be easy and it should just work.

unlike the existing websocket based solutions (e.g. WalletLink), which are not reliable on mobile especially when apps get backgrounded to talk to each other,
MWP offers direct local communication channel between app and wallet without requiring relay or bridge backend servers.
