Especially with the rise of Generative AI - and misinformation on the internet in general, I've been fascinated by this question of "how do you create something that is real?"
I think in many ways, we don't have this issue in the real world. When you are in the real world, like a simple object like a frying pan is real. You can hold the handle in your hand, and you can use it to do stuff. When you give the physical frying pan to others, they have it and they can do whatever they want wth it. If you forget your frying pan at home, reality is pretty unforgiving, you won't be able to create another frying pan on the fly, and lets say compared to a digital photo of a frying pan, you can't just arbitrarily ship a frying pan across the world, where as a photo of a frying pan you can. 1 reply
