Something I noticed watching kids: When they make mistakes, they think it’s hilarious. So weird! Well that went wrong. When older humans make mistakes, they are sometimes ashamed, embarrassed or blame others, rarely think it’s funny I hope to laugh more when at my own future mistakes

I often think about the kids I admire most on Old Enough. They quietly talk themselves through hard and scary parts of their journeys. They don’t give up because they are their own motivational inner voice.

my son writes pages + pages + pages. His teacher has been trying for months to get him to start with a thesis, add 3 supporting details, and wrap with a conclusion. She had multiple adults + kids try to pass the message to him. He got in a (verbal) fight with a classmate last week who told him to change his writing.
