I appreciate small details that are thoughtful even if they don’t matter now E.g. product details that you won’t notice unless you use it for the 20th time, words that your parents said yrs ago that you realize were their way of showing love, gestures frozen in time waiting to be unlocked in the future

Another adjacent thought: Van Gogh never selling his paintings and not that he didn’t care (he did care) but he also knew what he did in the moment mattered. No, he believed what he did in the moment mattered even if he wasn’t appreciated at the time Reminds me I’ve got to finish that book of his letters

Some things require a certain level of experience before they can be appreciated deeply

our societies have been shaped by what matters now, and what matters to others. having a thought like yours can be defined as timeless but I believe that in the long run people understand it better. A certain level of wisdom is needed to understand that what matters does not necessarily have to matter today, right away.

adjacent, but also the ethereal yet deliberate choices you make that end up shaping your character and decision paths over the years

Pay attention to the small details and choices in your life. Their impact might not be obvious right away, but over time, they shape who you are and the path you take.
