At times I have received advice and it’s turned out to be not only useless but harmful

Sometimes I have received advice but I desperately needed, but I just wasn’t quite ready to accept it or hear it yet

Every so often, I talk with someone and it is spot on. 

Most of the time I try things, and they don’t really work. And then I tried again and I learned some thing or I don’t, but I keep going. And this trial and error process just kind of keeps going on and on until I hit a valley that opens into wonderful pastures and beautiful views of abundance

And then even this valley of abundance becomes a burden of familiarity that I need to depart from. So I pack my bags and bid farewell to the valley that served me well enough and say bye to villagers and keep going again. Then the journey starts again and I’m not quite ready for it but here we go

So you fight. And this part is usually pretty long. Because it’s a lot of fighting, the fighting certain become easier when you identify who the enemy force is and how you’re going to win. You start forming a plan, you start figuring out what is the best way to orient your forces. Leaving in the shadows of fighting and the blood and sweat and tears.

Usually at this stage one or two things happen you reach a point where you’ve had enough and you give up. You tuck your tail between your legs and then you go home. The other thing that usually happens, is the fighting just gets worse. Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse it gets worse. And then you just have to fight through some more

Of course they are breaks every now and then, enough time to lick your wounds and rest. Just to get up to go straight back into battle the next day.

So what’s my point? I’m not sure. But I do think that making things and creating things is a battle. It’s a brutal battle. It’s not for the faint hearted. And it really just causes a lot of damage. And for what? I think in many ways if you don’t have something to fight for you will most certainly die

Why do people fight or fight for something? I’d say it’s mostly because of either love or hate

Every now and then there are battles. Battles that you’re in where it just doesn’t feel like the enemy is ever going to quit. It just doesn’t feel like there is remotely a chance to win. Or that’s at least what I imagine it feels for others, because you fight on anyway. You fight on because there’s no other way but forward. I want to die facing forward, not running away
