Also as we transition from big oil to big shovel (looking for lithium on earth) it’s going to become increasingly important to bring equipment into space and mine - and that’s going to have to be cost effective vs getting stuff out of the ground on earth alone - and to figure out ways to continually be net zero GHG

I’ve been thinking about how to build a space elevator for years now. Something that’s been of interest and back of mind for a while

- do it under a billion dollars
- doesn’t take very long (LEO, it turns out is far away)
- do it cost effectively 
- do it safely
- make it replicable on other planets in long run

from this list my favorite is space elevator prototype — need more specific metrics
